Starting PRE-SCHOOL

For all children joining the preschool, our initial emphasis is to make them feel secure, loved and happy . To assist with this process, each child is allocated a member of staff as their designated “Key person” who forms a special relationship with the child and his or her parents. The security provided by this relationship is, we feel, essential for all new children.

It is important that a parent (or an individual of the parent’s choice) should accompany all children for at least a short time on their first few attendances. After the new arrivals have become secure in their new surroundings, the staff can direct them increasingly towards the formation of friendships, the development of social behaviour and independence and learning/discovery activities. The need for love and security . The need for new experiences. The need for praise and recognition. The need for a framework of responsible behaviour .

At Kids Nation Play Skool, we understand that the importance of the early years in a child’s general experience which caters for the needs of the children, before they reach statutory school age, establishes the foundations of future learning in many areas of human experience. There are four main needs of the child in the preschool years:

The need for love and security , new experiences, praise and recognition and framework of responsible behaviour . Children over 2 come to the preschool with a wealth of experience to draw upon. They will have learned about people and their environment and begun to develop many of the skills which they need to operate in their world. It is our task to build upon this experience and extend their learning.
